Oswaldo Gessulli Institute (IOG) will be held on April 25th, 2017, in Florianópolis City (SC), the II Precision Livestock Farming Congress, with the aim of disseminating new knowledge, cutting-edge research and discussing advances in the use of precision livestock farming technologies in animal production systems.
Precision livestock farming is an area of knowledge that has grown with great intensity in recent years. It is a key tool in the search for efficient production via management solutions based on process engineering technologies, mainly through the use of sensors to monitor the animals and the bioclimatic characteristics of the breeding environment.
The use of technology developed within the concept of precision livestock farming, according to several scientific studies, has generated productivity improvements, reduction of costs and meeting the current demand, as is the case of animal welfare, in productive systems of poultry, swine and cattle.
The congress will have the participation of renowned national and international speakers, generating a great interest of companies, entities of the sector and students, not only of Brazil but of the whole world.
The city of Florianópolis was chosen for the Congress, because it has a central and strategic position in the South region, which is the headquarters of the main cooperatives and agro industries in Brazil. Together, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul bring together the country's largest poultry and swine farm, holding the title of largest producer and exporter of swine and poultry.
Larger and more visible, the event will bring together important themes for zootechnicians and poultry, swine and cattle professionals highlighting the development of "smart farms" as a promising investment for production.
Animals are continuously monitored, as are all the processes involved in their creation, so that decision-making and control are made 24 hours a day.
The smart farm is already a reality, adding value to the product, helping the management, nutrition, sanity and ensuring the welfare of the animals and consequently the quality of the final product.
